About

The Order of St. George was one of the earliest chivalric Orders. It was founded by King Charles I of Hungary, also known as Károly Róbert of Hungary, on St. Georges Day in 1326.

The Order of St George Priory of the United States of America, established in 2023, is an affiliate of the Order of St George for Canada. All Priories of the Order are not-for-profit organizations that exist to promote and pursue the timeless traditions of chivalry by compassion and supporting works of charity specific to the men and women in uniform who serve their respective communities.

The inspiration for the foundation of the Order are the Statutes which defined the secular Fraternal Society founded, as referenced above, by King Károly Róbert of Hungary in 1326. Linked to its Christian foundations and to the chivalric code, the Order of St. George has grown to encompass people of many faiths, and maintains its timeless commitments to faithful service and to helping people in need.
